Visit Natchez, MS
Natchez is 22 miles away (appx 30 minutes) from Heron's Cove. Natchez is known for its beautiful, historic homes and churches, haunted history, and bluffs along the mighty Mississippi River. There are plenty of things to see and do for a day or more. Visit the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians, museums, a winery, or a casino, see the sites of movies filmed there, drive the beautiful Natchez Trace, and shop the many, many antique and gift shops til you drop!
Visit Vidalia, LA
Vidalia is the closest "big-but-small" town near Heron's Cove. Here you can find grocery stores (Walmart, too!), plenty of restaurants, and a few attractions. Vidalia's riverwalk is on the bank opposite Natchez; visit the Delta Music Museum or Frogmore Plantation and Cotton Gin to learn about the history of cotton farming in the area.
